How to Get Away with Murder ist eine amerikanische Fernsehserie. Aus einer theoretischen Univorlesung wird bitterer Ernst. Viola Davis ist in der Hauptrolle zu sehen.

Also, she's so mean, she would have no friends. All lawyers make careers out of doing and asking for favors. The lead is so insufferable that no one would ever look in her direction, crippling her ability to practice law.

Aren't we over the hard nosed take no nonsense superstar lead? It's so boring. But hey it is 6 seasons and climbing, so screw me right?

That "How to Murder" is still going shows how far we have fallen as a society. Ross J. May 29, The writing is brilliant and the build to the reveal is genius.

A stunning series. May 22, Season 1 would definitely have to be my favorite of them all. From the atmosphere, to the character introduction, to the plot, it seemed to have a magic that was missing in the later seasons.

One that captivated you and lured you right in, because of the sheer mystery and unique storytelling for a "lawyer" show.

I instantly found favor among the season's main concept: a murder mystery taking place on a college campus, starring a missing frat girl, a cast of law students with differing personalities, the no-nonsense Annalise Keating, and the fact that just anybody could be a suspect.

It, in my eyes, separated itself from upcoming seasons, which felt different tonally, and not in a way I would have preferred the show after season 1 began to feel drier, more predictable, and overly involved in politics and legal matters than balancing the two with down-to-earth and lively storytelling; despite the great emotion-evocation and shock value that remained.

The characters themselves were portrayed in more fascinating ways that grabbed your interest, and the diverse personality traits that separated everyone from each other was quite clear.

We witnessed him going into Middleton law school, joining the main cast of law students, and unraveling secrets that were hidden from numerous characters.

Of course, he was far more innocent than anyone else among him, and clearly had much to learn which set the stage for his character evolution.

I didn't enjoy him sharing a direct connection to Annalise as revealed in following seasons, as it robbed him of the chance to become his own character and his short-lived life surely didn't help with that issue, nor did his stagnant and one-dimensional personality prior to the moments before his death.

Rebecca Sutter was my favorite, and a welcome addition to the first season. Not just because I'm personally a sucker for goth-esque girls, but because of how multi-layered she was.

Growing up in a city bigger than her, with rough beginnings and no sense of love in her life. She was bound to become a cold individual, and in that way allows the audience to understand her distrustful, vindictive, quick-witted, and aloof personality and why she does the things she does.

Wes only enhanced her purpose in the show. He gave her a reason to be involved in a core part of the storyline the murder of Sam Keating , and their relationship itself was an intriguing contrast of an innocent boy paired with an indecent girl.

And that spawned some great storytelling gold to mine, as Wes could have given Rebecca a reason to feel loved and become a better person overall.

Unfortunately, Rebecca was killed off at the start of the second season, which is a shame for both the character and the actress.

Her death was something I felt was reasonable, but forced for murder's sake. The factors building up to her death was Wes' sudden distrust of her and inability to be around her at the right time, the fact that she could contact a witness to the Keating 5's murder of Sam, and Bonnie simply not believing that Rebecca was innocent.

When in truth, none of those things needed to happen, and could have easily not been present in the show without betraying the nature of any characters.

Indeed, the eventual deaths of both Wes and Rebecca were quite unnecessary. The writing relied too much on surprising the audience with getting away with murder, while ignoring the potentialities that could've helped its characters grow.

Shock value can be good, and is basically required for HTGAWM in particular, but becomes a reckless waste of time when used on those who deserve better.

With that said, some other characters I enjoyed in the first season were Connor and Laurel the others weren't as fleshed out at the time. Connor was initially portrayed as an aspiring lawyer with confidence, who knew what he wanted and how to get it.

But why am I telling you this? Because I am trying to underline that this show has the most brilliant and shocking twists you could even imagine, and they have about of those.

They are executed with such brilliance and complexity that you will never get bored or annoyed by them. What is probably even better than the brilliant twists, however, is the masterful acting.

Viola Davis nails every single scene she is, she portrays this deeply flawed character beautifully with so much depth.

I cannot praise her enough, she deserves every single award that exists. That is not to say that the supporting cast is any less mesmerizing, they all bring their A-game consistently.

They all deserve recognition. And one last thing: character development!!!! So so brilliant! The characters that you meet in the pilot change a lot as time passes and they all become very three-dimensional!

Just go ahead and watch this show. I could say so much more, but just go enjoy the fun and crazy ride. You won't regret it, I promise! I honestly can say that this is one of the absolute best TV shows I've ever watched.

I feel like they are my family! I'm going to be so sad when it ends. I'm heartbroken this is over but it ended so perfectly, something a majority of series completely fail to do!

I've never rated anything a straight up 10 before but, this gets it! Each season is gripping, it is so cleverly done and will have you on the edge of your seat gagging for the next installment.

The writing, the acting, the flash backs and forward are all on point here. Hats off to Viola Davis, a truly awesome lead!

Another thing so many other series fail to accomplish. This is a brilliant watch and I highly recommend. Thanks so much for this total gem! I honestly think the other review was uncalled for.

This is fantastic! The beginning is a little confusing and hard to figure out whats going on but honestly, that's what makes it so suspenseful.

I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Most crime shows are all about justice, which is great but sometimes it's nice to see the opposite side of things.

There's so many dynamic characters in this show, it adds interest. Viola Davis is amazing in this. She's such a strong actress and her acting is very believable and on point.

What I will say is, some of the characters seem a bit awkward. Again, I think that's what makes it interesting. The awkward characters have a place and don't seem like a random actress throw into the mix.

She is involved in Sam's murder. In the second season, Michaela has sex with a man named Levi Wescott, who is revealed to be "EGGS," an unknown messenger who tried to contact Rebecca before her death disappearance for Michaela and the others and Rebecca's foster brother.

She also gets romantically involved with Caleb Hapstall, one of Annalise's clients. By the end of the season, Michaela and Asher share an unexpected moment together which leads, in the following season, to a serious relationship.

In the third season, Michaela's foster mother Trishelle lives with her in her apartment for a while, but she leaves after uninterrupted fights with Michaela.

In the fourth season, she continues her relationship with Asher, and after she is dispensed by Annalise she applies for internships.

In the sixth season, Michaela is pressured into making a deal to testify against Annalise at her trial and is reunited with her biological father. As Annalise's trial progresses, Michaela shows an apparent lack of remorse for her actions and claims to be fine with the person she has become, causing Connor to label her a sociopath.

With the help of her father, Michaela renegotiates an iron-clad deal that keeps her out of prison, while Connor is sent to jail for five years.

As Connor is taken away, Michaela finds herself pushed away by Oliver and ghosted by Laurel, and is shown to be devastated and remorseful that her actions in her determination to avoid prison have cost her all of her friends.

In a flash-forward, an older Michaela is shown being sworn in as a judge with two young women next to her, presumably her daughters.

She is not present at Annalise's funeral unlike many of Annalise's other surviving friends and students, and the ultimate status of her relationship with her former law school friends is left unknown.

Asher Millstone portrayed by Matt McGorry is a privileged, jokester who comes from a law-based background. He is even excluded from Sam's murder.

Over time, Asher begins a casual relationship with Bonnie. In the second season, he becomes embroiled in the murder of Emily Sinclair after her actions caused his father, William Millstone, to commit suicide.

After his father's death, he's excluded from his family, leaving him with no money and gets closer to the others, becoming aware of their criminal past and begins a sexual relationship with Michaela, which leads to a serious relationship.

In the third season, he tries to glue the group together after opinions begin to diverge and Annalise is distant.

In the sixth season's "Are You the Mole? He is subsequently beaten to death with a fireplace poker by an unknown assailant.

His killer is later revealed to be Denise Pollock, a woman working for the governor and posing as the lead FBI investigator on Asher's death.

After Nate discovers the truth and reveals it to the FBI, she is arrested. Asher's murder is one of the crimes Annalise is tried for, but Nate reveals the truth of his murder on the stand and the fact that the FBI tried to cover up one of their own doing it by getting Nate a twenty million dollar settlement for his father's murder.

Annalise is subsequently exonerated of murdering Asher as well as of the other crimes that she has been charged with. Laurel Castillo portrayed by Karla Souza is a quiet, sensitive and ambitious idealistic who enrolled in law school to learn how to help the less fortunate.

With a profound attention to detail and inventive mind, she is talented and darker than expected. In the first season, Laurel gets sexually involved with Frank Delfino as the two help each other with their struggles.

In the second season, Laurel and Wes investigate on Annalise's involvement with Wes' mother. They get romantically involved while Frank is away.

In the third season, Frank disappears and Laurel enters in the dilemma between Frank and Wes. Eventually Wes is killed and she discovers she is pregnant with his child.

Laurel, wanting to honor him, does everything to find out what happened to him and gets resentful after Annalise pins all the murders on a deceased Wes.

In the fourth season, Laurel starts to suspect her father, believing he is somehow guilty of Wes' death. At the end of the fifth season, Laurel and Christopher vanish without a trace, leaving their fates unknown.

In season six's "Are You the Mole? Though the others think that Laurel made a deal with the FBI to be the mole in exchange for entering Witness Protection, Laurel insists that she is innocent on Christopher's life, having instead fled with the help of Tegan Price.

Series I'm Watching. Annalise is arrested for Wes's death. Frank attempts to help Annalise by confessing to killing Wes. It is further revealed that Wes's death was commissioned by Laurel's father, who disapproved of their relationship.

In the fourth season, Annalise works with a therapist, Dr. Isaac Roa, to see through her recovery from alcoholism. She initially cuts ties with Bonnie who moves to the DA's office as an assistant district attorney reporting to DA Todd Denver and the interns, gets a woman with a long rap sheet freed from jail, and then commits to a major class action against the state for miscarriages of justice caused by an underfunded public defender 's office.

Laurel deduces that her father, Jorge Castillo, is responsible for Wes's murder and hatches a scheme to steal incriminating evidence from his law firm with the help of Michaela, Oliver, Frank, and Asher.

During the data heist, their classmate Simon Behzad Dabu accidentally shoots himself with Laurel's gun, leading to Asher's arrest, and Laurel goes into premature labor after being accidentally struck by Frank.

Annalise successfully saves the baby. However, Jorge claims custody of his grandchild by submitting evidence of Laurel's past addictions and history of mental illness to a judge.

Laurel's mother arrives unexpectedly to "help" Laurel fight against her father, and Frank and Bonnie uncover a mysterious link between Laurel's mother and both Wes and his killer, Dominic.

Meanwhile, Annalise searches for alternative ways to win her class action lawsuit. On January 3, , a crossover with Scandal was announced which aired on March 1, After Annalise Keating's class-action victory in the Supreme Court, she and her associates seek to start a new chapter in their lives.

Meanwhile, Frank tries to find out the real reason Maddox came to Middleton in the first place, and Asher joins Bonnie at the DA's office as he gets an internship there.

At the same time, Connor and Oliver Hampton also start planning their wedding, which is seen through new flashforwards that reveal a new murder committed.

Following Laurel and Christopher's disappearances and the death of Emmett Crawford at the previous season's end, Annalise goes on a bender and disappears into rehab out of guilt.

After coming to terms with her past misdeeds, she returns just in time to help her remaining star students push through their final semester of law school and try and find Laurel and Christopher.

Meanwhile, Michaela, Connor, and Asher continue to search for their friend and her son while preparing for graduation and the real world.

However, everyone comes on high alert when the FBI, at behest of Governor Birkhead, open an investigation into Annalise, her students, and her associates, and every murder and misdeed over the last six seasons is put out in the open, forcing them to make drastic choices for survival that will change their lives, relationships, and futures forever.
